A Special Note from Pastor Jim

Hello, I am Pastor Jim Kubic.  I serve as Lead Pastor of Launchpoint Church.  I’m writing this note to you in order to give you some insight into who I am and how Launchpoint Church came to be.

I moved from Dallas, TX at the age of 15 to Watertown to live with my grandparents, Gerald and Diane Kubic, until I graduated from Watertown High School.

After graduating in 1990, I joined the United States Army.  As a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, I served in Operation Desert Storm.  After leaving the military, I moved back to Wilson County and the community of Lebanon and joined the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department.  I served my community until I started working at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in 2003.

Launchpoint Church Lead Pastor Jim Kubic. In 2006, I found myself living in Davidson County, doing what I thought I could to be a good father to my two daughters, Brittany and Madison, and was content with that, or so I thought.  I met Angela in February of that year and after telling me she would not date me unless I attended church, I walked into Cornerstone Nashville in April 2006.  I never planned to have a life-changing encounter with a man named Jesus who gave His life for mine; I was only going along with this girl from Smith County, who told me she wouldn’t date me if I didn’t go to church with her.

While listening to Pastor Maury Davis’ testimony, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and made Him Lord of my life.  Shortly thereafter, I felt a call to full-time ministry.  Angela and I threw ourselves into every serving opportunity we could.  I was honored to be mentored by some great men and led by God to achieve a life of humility, seeking other’s needs above my own.  In 2012, I was asked to join the pastoral staff at Cornerstone Nashville as an associate pastor of First Impressions and Men’s Ministry.  During this time, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Bethel University and received a Master’s of Divinity from Liberty University.  I am currently working on my Doctorate in Ministerial Leadership at Liberty University.

After four years at Cornerstone Nashville, Angela and I believed God was calling us to move back to Lebanon and plant a church.  God’s vision was twofold.  First, we knew we were called to plant a church in Lebanon that would lead others to a life-changing relationship with Christ we had found.  Secondly, we have been called to promote a healthy Church in Lebanon–meaning the whole body of believers, not just Launchpoint Church.

The miracles that God performed to bring us to today are too many to list here but come visit us soon to hear all about them.  We have been blessed to see Launchpoint continue to grow since we planted in January of 2016 and are eagerly anticipating what God will do in and through Launchpoint Church in the coming years.

I end today with a simple Thank You and an invite!  Thank you to the pastors in Lebanon who have come alongside us and encouraged us to join them in spreading the Gospel in our community.  Thank you to the community of Lebanon and Wilson County for welcoming us and allowing us to serve you.  If you’ve been considering attending Launchpoint Church, please come visit soon.  We’d love to meet you and get to know you.

With best regards,

Pastor Jim
